The Hotel with a Disabled-Friendly Certificate

The capital of Slovenia, where castles and dragons coexist with modern bars and exciting nightlife, hosts one of the most adapted hotels – City Hotel Ljubljana 3***. The hotel offers 200 comfortable rooms where you can relax after a long exploration of the capital. Apart from comfortable rooms and attentive staff, the hotel has a fully equipped conference centre with four meeting rooms, fitness centre, restaurant and bar.

City Hotel is also an excellent choice for those who want to explore other parts of Slovenia. A good hour’s drive will take you to the magical Slovenian coast, where you can explore stony streets of medieval Piran. You will also find within easy reach the fairy tale lake Bled, or the breath-taking underground world of the Postojna Cave.

The hotel is completely adapted for the wheelchair users. It is located on the outskirts of the pedestrian zone, but still easily reachable with the car. The Ljubljana Airport is only 25 km away from the hotel.

Friendly staff will welcome you at the reception desk on the ground floor. There is an Internet corner next to the reception desk, and a sitting corner on the other side, decorated with an enlarged map of Ljubljana with the locations of most popular tourist spots. On the ground floor you’ll also find a bar and a restaurant serving intoxicating delicacies as well as daily lunches for external guests.

The hotel perfectly adapts to modern needs of its guests. Due to Covid-19, a former library in the lobby has been redesigned into a small exhibition space with photos of the hotel from its inception to the present day. Taking into consideration the epidemics, there are disinfectants and hygiene warnings everywhere. You can also use disposable gloves in the restaurant and tissues next to the elevator.

All floors are connected via the elevator with elevator doors opening on both sides. The elevator is also wide enough to turn around with the wheelchair (they have both wide and narrow elevators). You can also borrow the wheelchair, while guests without mobility problems can rent free-of-charge bicycles.

Accessible parking	The hotel has its own underground garage. Upon reservation you can ask to reserve a parking space next to the elevator entrance.
Accessible entrance	The hotel entrance is fully adapted: the elevator takes you from the garage, and from the street there is a ramp on both sides of the entrance.
Accessible room	City Hotel Ljubljana offers six recently renovated disabled rooms, each room being on separate floor. Five of them are three-bed rooms, and one is a two-bed. The renovation design includes slightly lowered beds and wardrobes.
Adapted bed	All rooms have a space under the bed for a portable lift, which unfortunately the hotel does not have at disposal.
Accessible bathroom	Every disabled room has two bathrooms, one of which is fully adapted, while the other is intended for the companion. General disabled toilet is located on the ground floor close to the restaurant. It is fully adapted and wide enough for electric wheelchair users.
Accessible café or restaurant	Both the bar and the restaurant are fully acceptable to wheelchair users, everything is level and easily adaptable. Booth areas allow sufficient movement, and the tables have underpasses.
Additional accessible offer	There is a large conference hall on the ground floor. It is fully adapted and can be adjusted for a variety of events.
Accessible paths	The main bus and train stations are only 400m away, and the Miklošič park is also nearby. The picturesque Petkovšek embarkment, the starting point for market exploration, wandering towards the Ljubljana Castle or Prešeren Square – everything is only 400m away, while Metelkova City and the museum platform are only 600m away.

Safe and sound events

Conference halls are bright, fully equipped and very flexible. The four halls in the conference centre can host four separate events with 10 to 50 participants. By removing partition walls, the smaller halls are combined into larger ones. Removing all partition walls creates a single area for a maximum of 180 people.

All halls have enough daylight, high ceiling, they are soundproofed, and have both artificial and natural air circulation. The hotel has taken epidemic preventing measures, such as appropriate seating distance, disinfection and other measures. In cooperation with the Slovenian Convention Bureau, the hotel was awarded the “Safe and healthy at events” certificate, which makes their venues for events in accordance with the National Institute of Public Health’s (NIJZ) conditions and additional measures.

For each of the halls the hotel offers preparation of conference rooms, basic sound system with wireless microphones, projector screen, CD projector, wi-fi, presentation whiteboard, podium, marks and event promotion within the hotel and cloakroom. For special occasions you can also transform conference rooms into a pleasant hall suitable for a variety of social events.
